Electronic Prescribing Service
Wherever possible we would like our patients to sign up to the Electronic Prescription Service.
This is where the patient nominates a pharmacy that they would like their prescriptions to be sent to electronically. This means that you still request your prescription in the usual way however when we receive your request we will process it and automatically send it electronically to your nominated pharmacy - this is much easier, efficient, safer and more secure than you having to come and collect your prescription from the practice.
Our staff will be asking all patients who collect prescriptions to sign up for this and you can nominate a pharmacy of your choice at that time. If in the future you wish to change to a different pharmacy just let us know and we can make that change for you.

Please provide us with your email address, and confirm the details are correct. Should you need to reset or change your password, you can do via email regardless of the surgery being open or not.
This is our preferred method as it offers so much more for you, such as booking an apppointment, asking a question, letting us know a change of address. This service will continue to be enhaced by SystmOne. You can download an App for online access from itunes for ipads and iphones, or for android operating systems on devices, go to the Google Play Store (search for "SystmOnline") and is available to download for free for both.
Please make sure you have some photographic identification with you when you register for this service. Your photo driving licence or passport are fine. This service is totally secure.
Requests for a repeat prescription can also be made by post or by coming into the surgery.
We do not accept repeat prescriptions over the telephone. If you wish to order your medication over the telephone your local pharmacy are happy to order your medication for you.
Prescriptions will usually be ready to collect after 72 hours.
If you provide a stamped address envelope we can post your prescription to you.
Did You Know?
Many local pharmacies can order, collect and deliver your prescription for you. If you would like to participate in this service, contact your local pharmacy for more information.
Your pharmacy can also discuss your medications with you. Ask them about having a medication usage review. They will let the practice know of your consultation.
If you live more than 1 mile from the nearest chemist we are able to dispense your prescription at our Lowdham site within 3 working days – please click on the link below for more information about our Dispensary Services
Help with NHS costs
In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:
- those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
- those who are age exempt
- those with certain medical conditions
- More information is available at NHS Choices
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
- Prescription (per item): £9.15
- 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £105.90
- 3-month PPC: £29.65
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
